California is a state located on the West Coast of the United States. It is the most populous U.S. state, home to 38 million people, and is the third largest state by area, after Alaska and Texas.

The Biggest Paul Bunyan & Babe Blue OX

World's Largest Paul Bunyan & Babe Blue Ox, Klamath, California, USA

Paul Bunyan is a lumberjack figure in North American folklore and tradition. One of the most famous and popular North American folklore heroes, he is usually described as a giant as well as a lumberjack of unusual skill, and is often accompanied in stories by his animal companion, Babe the Blue Ox. The red-and-black "buffalo plaid" shirt he wears is actually a MacGregor tartan.

The Biggest Raisin Box

The world's largest raisin box - Kingsburg, California

The World's Largest Box of Raisins sits at the office entrance to Sun-Maid raisins, a little plant that’s been in its original location since it’s inception. At one time, it did actually hold raisins, but the box is now empty for obvious reasons.

The creation of the box was a part of Dr. William E. Rice’s Marketing Block class at California State University – Fresno. In an interview with him, he told of the 1992 record, officially recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records. The Marketing Block class broke a total of 5 World Records, but stopped attempting records after the failure of the Worlds Largest Fruit Cocktail.

After the creation of the World’s Largest Box of Raisins, the marketing class donated it to the Sun-Maid plant.

The Biggest Mural

Salvation Mountain - Niland, California

Salvation Mountain must be seen to be fully appreciated as those who have made the journey will attest. Its 50 foot height and 150 foot breadth is made totally of local adobe clay and donated paint and is truly unique in the United States and probably the world.

I don't know if this is the world's biggest mural, but it really made an impression on me.

The Biggest Desert Tortoise

The World's Largest Desert Tortoise is on the main street of Joshua Tree, California

Nobody really knows what, where, when or why.
